Laboratory and field studies of carbon 14 labeled 2 4 d degradation in soils

Under laboratory and natural conditions with the help of isotope indicators the kinetics of 14C-2,4-D decomposition in soddy-podozolic soil and chernozem soil was analyzed. Evaluation of the role of separate processes in its degradation was carried out. Losses due to microbiological decomposition may be from 60-70 to 10% of the total amount of the chemical depending on conditions. Comparing the results of field and laboratory experiments gives more reliable parameters of degradation, which can be used in forecasting the behavior of pesticides in the environment.
