Laboratory culture of palaemon elegans crustacea decapoda 3

Laboratory culture of palaemon elegans crustacea decapoda 3

Bollettino Societa Italiana Biologia Sperimentale 57(22): 2252-2256

P. elegans larvae were bred in the laboratory under controlled conditions (at 4 different salty concentration rates). The larval development 25-30 days at an average ambient temperature of 20.degree. C. Of the 500 larvae hatched from the eggs, 200 were insulated and held for an adaptation period of about 10 h at the salinity of their home environment. The resistance of these forms to salinity variations was shown. The results were confirmed by biostatistical methods.
