Laboratory estimation of symbiotic properties of rhizobium meliloti

The optima are determined for estimation of rhizobia symbiotic properties and Medicago sativa reaction to rhizobia inoculation in sterile test tubes. The maximum nitrogenase activity of bacteria is shown to be observed at 30th day of experiment. At the same time there is the maximum correlation coefficient between dry mass of alfalfa above organs and acetylene reduction by nodule bacteria. There is high correlation (r = 0.9) between the results obtained under estimation of R. meliloti symbiotic properties in test tubes and parameters of vegetation experiments.
