Laboratory evaluation of pesticides for the control of seed borne fungi of pearl millet

The efficacy of 10 pesticides Agrosan G [granular], Benlate, Brassicol Blitox-50, Dithane-M-45, sulfur, thiram, Vitavax-75, Aureofungin (50, 100 and 150 ppm) and thimet at 500, 1000, and 15,000 ppm concentration was tested under in vitro conditions to control the 23 seed-borne fungi of pearl millet. The results revealed that thiram, Dithane-M-45, Aureofungin (at 100 ppm), Brassicol and Agrosan G could be safely used at 1000 ppm to prevent the seed borne infection of pathogenic fungi.
