Laboratory induced mortality of spodoptera litura fed on the leaf discs of castor treated with the extracts of vitex negundo and stachytarpheta urticifolia

Laboratory induced mortality of spodoptera litura fed on the leaf discs of castor treated with the extracts of vitex negundo and stachytarpheta urticifolia

Indian Journal of Agricultural Sciences 55(12): 760-761

In a laboratory trial, feeding on the leaf discs treated with 500 ppm of crude gum extracted from shade-dried leaves of Vitex negundo Linn. resulted in 100% mortality of the third-instar larvae of Spodoptera litura Fabr. Tests with Stachytarpheta urticifolia (Salisb.) Sims gave 40 to 60% mortality at concentration ranging from 500 ppm to 1,000 ppm.
