Abstract
Leaf mucilages from 4 spp. of Chorisia H.B.K. (Bombacaceae) grown in Argentina were studied: C. insignis H.B.K., C. speciosa St. Hil., C. pubiflora (St. Hil.) Dawson and C. crispiflora H.B.K. The phytochemical analysis of the mucilages and their histological distribution in the leaflets provide a chemotaxonomic approach at generic and specific levels.
