Abstract
Midstorage dipping-drying (5 min dipping followed by drying) treatment with a dilute disodium phosphate solution (10-4 M) and progressive hydration (adding 150 ml of solution for each kilogram of seed in 3 equal installments of 50 ml each at intervals of 1 h) followed by dehydration of stored wheat seeds greatly reduced subsequent physiological deterioration. The treatments showed better field performance and ultimately gave significantly higher yield.
