Metals and metalloids in the digestive gland of a bivalve pecten maximus intra cellular localization by electron probe micro analysis involvement of digestive mechanisms

Comptes Rendus des Seances de l'Academie des Sciences Serie III Sciences de la Vie 294(13): 673-678

ISSN/ISBN: 0249-6313

Numerous metals and metalloids are detected in the digestive gland of Pecten. In natural conditions, the elements (Cd, Ag, Mo, Zn, Br, Cu, Fe, Ca, S, Si and Al) are concentrated in the lysosomes of digestive cells and amoebocytes. The involvement of digestive intracellular mechanisms in this storage is considered.
