The influence of soil, salinized with NaCl and Na2SO4 on growth and mineral uptake of A. hypogaea L. cv. SB-11 was studied. Both salts affected growth and pod development. The analysis of root, stem, leaf and gynophore revealed that the salt treatment enhanced accumulation of Na, P, Fe and Mn. The K:Na ratio was considerably reduced. Ca content was affected more by Na2SO4 than NaCl treatment. This ionic imbalance may cause growth retardation and affect pod development.
