Abstract
The molluscan fauna of the Miocene Morozaki Group, called the Portlandia (Hataiyoldia) tokunagai fauna, which developed in the southern part of Chita Peninsula, is described from the viewpoint of paleoecology. Among 35 spp., 2 new pelecypods Bathymalletia chitensis sp. nov. and Neilo morozakiensis sp. nov., are distinguished. Based on the molluscan species, the characteristics of the present fauna are discussed.
