Murthya a new ostracode genus of Cytherinae is proposed for the species previously described as Leutocythere chadopadiensis Lymbimova and Guha from the Lower Miocene beds of Kachchh District, India. The genus also occurs in the Lower Miocene beds of Saurashtra, Quilon, and Thanjavur.
