Myco flora in corn ear zea mays part 1

Corn ear rot fungi (56) from 4 different localities in Mexico were studied. Fusarium moniliforme Sheld. showed the highest frequency. Other fungi were the Aspergillus flavus group, Rhizopus stolonifer (Enrenb. ex. Fr.) Viull, A. niger group, Penicillium spp., Trichoderma viride Pers., Alternaria sp., A. glaucus group, A. ochraceus group. Helminthosporium sp., Nigrospora oryzae (B. y Br.) Petch. and A. candidus group were found. Unidentified fungi as well as bacteria were present.
