Natural and experimental correlations between spermatocyte growth and ecdysteroid titers in lithobiidae myriapoda chilopoda

Natural and experimental correlations between spermatocyte growth and ecdysteroid titers in lithobiidae myriapoda chilopoda

Revue Canadienne de Biologie Experimentale 42(2): 183-190

Natural and experimental correlations between ecdysteroids and spermatocyte growth were investigated in Lithobius crassipes. Ecdysteroid level is higher in this species than in L. forficatus, related to an intense synthetic metabolism. A supply of exogenous ecdysteroids can increase the uptake of labeled precursors, except during the premeiotic and meiotic phases.
