Natural killing and antibody dependent cellular cyto toxicity in specific pathogen free miniature swine and germ free piglets 3. 2 distinct effector cells for natural killing and antibody dependent cellular cyto toxicity

Natural killing and antibody dependent cellular cyto toxicity in specific pathogen free miniature swine and germ free piglets 3. 2 distinct effector cells for natural killing and antibody dependent cellular cyto toxicity

Journal of Immunology 127(5): 2190-2193

The effect of anti-natural killing (anti-NK) sera on NK and antibody-dependent cellular cytotoxicity (ADCC) activities was examined to study further the relationship between the effector cells for NK and ADCC in specific pathogen-free miniature swine. An appropriate dilution of anti-NK sera that had no effect on ADCC activity not only inhibited NK activity but also eliminated NK cells in the presence of complement, which supports the presence of NK cells distinct from the killer cells for ADCC.
