Four new species of the genus Vulcanisphaera Deunff 1961 [V. cirrita, V. pila, V. imparilis and V. britannica ], are described from the Shineton Shales Formation, Tremadocian, England. The type species, V. africana, was previously recorded from the Tremadocian of Africa and Belgium and is now recorded in the Tremadocian of England. The genus is emended because of new evidence of morphological variations of processes recorded in the new species.
