Notes on clusiaceae of sri lanka and reduction of pentaphalangium

The following species of Garcinia are discussed: G. gummi-gutta (= G. cambogia), G. zeylanica, G. morella, G. echinocarpa, G. hermonii sp. nov., G. terpnophylla, G. spicata, G. thwaitesii, G. xanthochymus and G. latissimum which is reinstated. The genus Pentaphalangium is merged with Garcinia, resulting in the following new combinations: G. smithii comb. et. nom. nov. (= P. brassii A.C. Smith), G. carolinensis (= P. carolinense Lauterb.), G. crassinervis (= P. crassinerve Warburg), G. pachycarpa (= P. pachycarpum A.C. Smith), G. solomonensis (= P. solomonense A.C. Smith) and G. volkensii (= P. volkensii Lauterb.). Mesua nagassarium and species of Calophyllum including C. zeylanicum sp. nov. are also discussed.
