On the growth of boleophthalmus dussumieri c. v. and boleophthalmus dentatus c.v. family gobiidae from the karachi coast of pakistan

Biologia (Lahore) 32(SPEC. SUPPL): 55-62

The growths of body parts of Boleophthalmus dussumieri C.V. and B. dentatus C. V. in relation to standard length by the least square method were determined. The fastest growing parts are preanal, predorsal and caudal fin, and the least growth rates are found in eye and snout. Test for difference between the regression coefficients of the two species showed the significant values in the following characters: in TL, standard length; in SL: pectoral fin, caudal fin, head length, body depth, predorsal distance, preanal distance, which suggest differences in the two similar species B. dussumieri and B. dentatus.
