On the helminth parasites of rodents in the eastern delta egypt 2. a review of the cestode genus hydatigera lamarck 1816

The genus Hydatigera is reviewed and the strobilocercus larval stages of Hydatigera taeniaeformis Batsch, 1786 were found to be suspended in white fluid inside an invory-white cyst in liver of Arvicanthis niloticus niloticus, Rattus norvegicus, R. rattus rattus and Acomys cahirinus caught from the Nile Delta, Egypt. The specific diagnosis of H. taeniaeformis is briefly outlined and compared with other descriptions.
