On the identity of the genus homolophus a senior synonym of euphalangium opiliones phalangiidae

, : On the identity of the genus homolophus a senior synonym of euphalangium opiliones phalangiidae. Acta Arachnologica 35(2): 89-96

The rediscovery of the long lost holotype of Homolophus arcticus BANKS allowed the author to determine the identity of this species, the type for the genus. Euphalangium ROEWER is a junior synonym of Homolophus and all of its currently recognized species are listed in their respective new combinations. [H. adungius, H. afghanus (not H. afghanus Roewer, 1960), H. albofasciatus, H. betpakdalensis, H. chitralensis, H. nordenskioeldi, H. potanini, H. przewalskii, H. suzukii, H. thienshanensis, H. tibetanus, H. trinkleri, H. turciucus, and H. vladimirae.] The status of species formerly included in Homolophus is briefly noted [including new combinations for species now excluded from Homolophus: Dilophiocara afghana (from H. afghanus Roewer, 1960), Microliobunum iranum, and Togwoteeus biceps.].
