Onto morphogenesis of shrubby paeonia representatives part 1 paeonia suffruticosa

Ontomorphogenesis and vegetative organ anatomy of the geoxyluus shrub P. suffruticosa were described. Shrub formation begins in the 3rd yr of life, the cotyledon node buds, hidden in soil, become active first. Shoots of juvenile forms are monopodial, generative plants have sympodial shoots, which are dead for 1/3 or 1/2 of the length after germination. This is the cause of some adult shrub height constancy. Induviate tissue of axial organs is cork. Tuberous roots have typical tree structure. Secondary xylem vessel members are short, have scalariform perforation plates with 1-3 cross-bars; in underground organs they are more specialized then in above-ground stem. Leaves are mesomorphous with some xeromorphous features; nodes are 5 lacunar.
