Opinions of students about existing educational systems in an agricultural college

Opinions of students about existing educational systems in an agricultural college

Mesopotamia Journal of Agriculture 15(2): 63-80

The opinions of college students about selected aspects of an educational system existing in an agricultural institution were solicited. The aspects included for the investigation were individual goals for college education, college policies and practices, individual achievement, services in the college and teaching methods and styles. All the undergraduate students of the college of agriculture constituted the population. There were 243 students in the sample. The data was collected with the use of a questionnaire. The major findings revealed that the students perceived improving ability to think and reason as the most important goal of college education, encouraging students to use the library materials as the most favored college policy, placed personal development at the top of the goals as far as achievement was concerned, hostel facilities were the most satisfactory facility, and they favored teachers who used related materials to explain the problems in the class.
