The results of study in Murrah buffaloes during postpartum period indicated that ovrian cyclic activity was resumed as early as 22nd day in primiparous and 29th day in pluriparous Murrah buffaloes since palpable corpus luteum was present in one of the ovaries on the days mentioned. The diameter of gravid horn was reduced from 16.10 to 5.4 cm by 15 days postpartum registering 70 percent reduction while the non-gravid horn decreased from 6.4 cm to 4.10 cm registering only 37 percent reduction. Gravid horn involuted more rapidly than non gravid horn and complete involution occurred between 29th and 36th day. The involution of cervix was gradual and uniform in 5 to 36 days.
