Panicum antidotale on sands bordering oases

P. antidotale a prospective fodder crop grown on the Karakum [Turkmen SSR, USSR] sands, produces 3 harvestings during vegetation period when irrigated by sprinkling. The average green mass irrigated in 3 yr totalled 622 c[center]/ha, (150 c[centners]/ha in fodder units). Crops should be sown under 15-20.degree. C by the end of April.
