Photodecomposition of stilbene 3 laser dye in different solvent systems

Absorption and emission spectra of the laser dye stilbene-3 have been taken in different solvents and also in aqueous alcohol of different pH. The photolysis damage in different solvents has been evaluated and compared. The effects of variation of dose, wavelength of excitation, concentration of water in aqueous alcoholic mixture and triplet scavengers have been studied. Oxygen effect on fluorescence decay has been evaluated. Actual laser experiments with N2 laser have been done in some cases.
