Photoindication of freshwater lenses in the terskie sands ussr

Ekologiya (Moscow) (2): 73-75

Photoindication studies of changes in the mineralization of subsandy waters were conducted in the Terskie Sands. Seven groups of ecosystems, whose appearance served as an indicator water mineralization, were identified. The following species were found in these ecosystems: Leymus racemosus, Isatis sabulosa, Melilotus officinalis, Phragmites australis, Calligonum spp., Eremosparton spp., Oligosporus arenarius, Agropyron fragile var. sibiricum, Glycyrrhiza glabra, Alhagi pseudalhagi, Salsola iberica, Seriphidium lercheanum, Tamarix laxa, Lucium ruthenicum and Nitraria schoeberi. The 1st physiognomic characteristics pointing to the increased mineralization of subsandy waters are a fluctuation in the projective cover of vegetation and the disappearance of certain smallest forms of nanorelief. Mechanisms of the proximity of the hollow to certain ecosystems plays a great indication role.
