Phule pragati a high yielding early bunch groundnut arachis hypogaea cultivar for maharashtra india

Journal of Maharashtra Agricultural Universities 5(1): 47-52

An early and high-yielding selection, JL 24, introduced from Taiwan, was released under the name 'Phule-Pragati' for general cultivation in rainfed bunch groundnut area in Maharashtra. On an average, JL-24 gave 105.3% higher yield over S. B. XI and matured in .apprx. 90 days as compared to .apprx. 110 days of S. B. XI. In multilocation trials on research stations and in district trials, JL-24 yielded on an average, 65.20 and 44.00% higher than S. B. XI, respectively. The new variety is superior to S. B. XI, both in kernel size and shelling percent.
