Plastid apparatus of the embryo of chloro embryophytes and leuko embryophytes and its functional significance

Plastid apparatus of the embryo of chloro embryophytes and leuko embryophytes and its functional significance

Doklady Akademii Nauk SSSR Seriya Biologiya 224(6): 1425-1427

Chloroplasts are observed in the tissues of the embryo of many angiosperms (chloroembryophytes), whereas leucoplasts are observed in others (leucoembryophytes). This division of angiosperms is considered to be related not with the automony of the embryo in the former and its absence in the latter, but with the characteristics of the biochemical activity of green embryos.
