Pollen morphology of 24 spp. belonging to Diospyros and Euclea distributed in India was investigated. Besides, the affinities of Ebenaceae with Styracaceae, Symplocaceae and Sapotaceae, the palynology has also provided the clues as to the merging of the above 2 genera.
