Abstract
The experimental work was conducted in 1974 and 1975 in the village Kauguri, the Latvian Republic (USSR). After studying natural populations of 9 weed species [Bidens tripartita, Capsilla Dursa-pastoris, Chemopodium album, Galeopsis tetrahit, Galinsoga parviflora, Erigeron canadensis, Erysimum cheiranthoides, Sinapis arvensis, Trifolium arvense] polymorphism of individual plants in growth and structure of the main shoot was found. Studying natural populations gives some idea of the range of plant variation under given conditions but cannot answer the question about the true structure of populations and the causes of the variability observed.
