Abstract
We have analyzed the leaf ultra-structure, the pigment contents and the percent germination of an aurea leaf mutant of Triticum durum var. Cappelli in different light conditions. The chloroplast membranes are normally structured though the mutant thylakoids are less appressed, the total chlorophyll contents are three times lower in the mutant at sun light; at dim light the differences are lower. The ratios between carotenes and xanthophylls are very different in the two wheats and rather different are the times of germination at the sun light, but not in the dark.
