Research of optimal conditions for the activity and studies on the mode of action of several endo-D-galacturonanases produced by microscopic fungi led to the possibility of their utilization without previous purification for the preparation of digalacturonic (di-D-galactoside uronic) acid. The procedure of preparation is based on such a degradation of D-galacturonase that the final proucts of the enzyme-catalyzed reaction are digalacturonic and D-galactopyranuronic acid which were then separated by gel filtration.
