Preparation of homogenous protamines by the fractionation of nucleoprotamine

, : Preparation of homogenous protamines by the fractionation of nucleoprotamine. Khimiya Prirodnykh Soedinenii (3): 378-381

A new method was proposed for the preparation of homogenous protamines by the fractionation of a nucleoprotamine subjected to ultrasonic treatment. The nucleoprotamine was isolated from the gonads of the sturgeon Acispenser stellatus using centrifugation, chromatography and electrophoresis. Data were presented on the amino acid composition of the proteins in A. stellatus gonads. The method may be also used to isolate nonprotamine proteins.
