, : Preparation of iodine 131 labeled iodinated nonoxynol 9. Journal of Labelled Compounds & Radiopharmaceuticals 21(9): 821-832

A novel method for the radioiodination [131I] of the multicomponent non-ionic surfactant nonoxynol-9 (N-9) [the most widely used non-ionic surfactant in vaginal spermicides] is described. The extent of incorporation and distribution of the 131I-label into the aromatic moiety of various ethoxymer units of N-9 was determined utilizing a high pressure liquid chromatography (HPLC) method.
