Preparation of monospecific antiserum to lactoperoxidase with the use of immunoprecipitates

, : Preparation of monospecific antiserum to lactoperoxidase with the use of immunoprecipitates. Zhurnal Mikrobiologii Epidemiologii i Immunobiologii (8): 88-90

To prepare monospecific antiserum to lactoperoxidase, one of the factors of the nonspecific protection of the body from infections, the complexes of lactoperoxidase with antibodies to it were used as antigens: precipitates were obtained by linear immunoelectrophoresis with the use of partially purified lactoperoxidase and antisera to it. This method does not require obtaining the highly purified enzyme and the subsequent adsorption of antisera.

Spectrophotometric measurements have been made of the effect of variation of the ionic strength, and equivalent molar concentration of sucrose, on the rate of uptake of CO and O2 by reduced erythrocytes. Cyclic variations of the rate of uptake by...

Narrow spectral features in ocean sediment records offer strong evidence that the cycles of glaciation were driven by astronomical forces. Activation of telomerase in human cancers is thought to be necessary to overcome the progressive loss of telomeric DNA that accompanies proliferation of normal somatic cells. According to this model, telomerase provides a growth advantage to cells...
