Preparation of 131I labeled rose bengal using low specific active Na131I and a labeling method from a KIT, is studied. Influence of components of isotope exchange reaction in its development is investigated. New conclusions, up to date unknown, on the mechanism of exchange reaction are achieved from results obtained. Biodistribution in rats and the study of hepatic flow performed in rabbits point out that the radiopharmaceutical preparation fulfils parameters required in order to use it in humans.
