Preparation of specific anti serum to estrone sulfate

, : Preparation of specific anti serum to estrone sulfate. Journal of Steroid Biochemistry 13(9): 1075-1080

The preparation and antigenic properties of estrone sulfate-bovine serum albumin (BSA) conjugate are described in which the hapten is linked to the carrier protein through the C-6 position on the steroid nucleus. Antibody raised against antigen in the rabbit possessed high affinity (KA = 1.86 .times. 109 M-1) and excellent specificity to estrone sulfate, exhibiting no significant cross-reactions with other estrogen sulfates (< 1%) and no cross-reactivities with free estrogens, their glucuronides and other related steroids (< 0.001%).
