Presence in the mediterranean of the bathyal echinoid echinus alexandri new record danielssen and koren 1883 echinodermata echinoidea

Echinus alexandri (Danielssen and Koren, 1883) (Echinodermata, Echinoidea) is for the first time mentioned in the Mediterranean sea. That's a bathyal species from the North Atlantic ocean. Its morphological and bathymetrical characteristics are typical of this species. Some aspects of its presence in the Mediterranean sea are discussed.
