Primary retroperitoneal malignant tumors personal experience in 11 cases

, : Primary retroperitoneal malignant tumors personal experience in 11 cases. Acta Chirurgica Italica 41(5): 642-651

An analysis of 11 patients operated on for primary retroperitoneal tumors from 1978 to 1985 is presented. The diagnostic and therapeutic problems as well as the long-term results are discussed. Ultrasonography and computed tomography have greatly contributed in improving diagnosis. Furthermore, they supply useful information for the choice of surgery. The essential role surgery plays in the treatment of these tumors is also underlined.
