Abstract
During the investigation of primary structures of E. coli DNA-dependent RNA polymerase .beta.-subunit and its structural gene rpoB, the nucleotide sequence of part of the EcoRI G fragment (645 base pairs), coding for the .beta.-subunit N-terminus, was established. The N-terminal .beta.-subunit amino acid sequence consisted of 188 amino acid residues. This is in accordance with sequences of isolated .beta.-subunit peptides and differs from the sequence, published by Gurevich et al. (1979).
