Properties of organic matter in soddy podzolic soil from the 2nd humus horizon in smolensk oblast russian sfsr ussr

Properties of organic matter in soddy podzolic soil from the 2nd humus horizon in smolensk oblast russian sfsr ussr

Vestnik Leningradskogo Universiteta Biologiya (3): 90-96

The organic matter of the 2nd humous horizon was characterized by passivity, high optical density of humic acids, homogeneous group composition of humus at the horizon A2h. These characteristics indicate the Herelict nature of the 2nd humous horizon and development of these soils. At the same time organic matter of the horizon A2h had undergone metamorphosis and essentially differed from humus in its modern analogs.
