A fungus was isolated from rotten mioga plants, rhizosphere soils and plant residues obtained from different mioga-growing areas. The fungus was highly pathogenic to the young potted mioga plants. The morphological characteristics of the fungus were identical with those of P. zingiberum Takahashi.
