The radiological appearances in 30 [human] cases of early esophageal carcinoma are described. The main changes were localized superficial filling defect; changes in the mucosal folds, such as thickening, tortuosity, interruption, destruction and convergence; and minute ulceration. Spasm and stiffness in the affected segment are frequently observed.
