Primitive agglutinated foraminifera, mainly saccamminids and hormosinids, are described from the Campos shelf, Brazil, and the new species Psammosphaera pontei and Hormosina perellai are proposed. The foraminifera of the Campos shelf live under the influence of the cold Falkland (Malvin current). Saccamminids from the warm shallow waters of the Bahia shelf, northern Brazil are recorded and illustrated. [Other species described include: P. fusca Schulze, 1875, P. aff. parva Flint, 1897, Lagerammina atlantica (Cushman), 1944, Reophax arayaensis Bermudez et Seiglie, 1963, R. caribensis Seiglie et Bermudez, 1969, R. scorpiurus De Montfort, 1808, Reophax sp. and Glaucoammina trilateralis (Cushman), 1935.].
