Recent trends in chemical research of plant hormones
Plant hormones presently known are oxine, gibberelin, cytokinin, abscisic acid and ethylene. Recent trends in the chemical study of plant hormones, especially gibberellin, are discussed. Specifically, advances made in methods of analysis, isolation of gibberellins from natural plants including Gibberella fujikuroi, biosynthesis, inactivation, correlations between structure and activity, and chemical synthesis of gibberellins, changes in the amounts of gibberellins in rice plants and gibberellins in membranes including chloroplast membrane of Triticum aestivum are discussed.
