Reconstruction of a full thickness defect of the cheek using a deltopectoral flap case report

Reconstruction of a full thickness defect of the cheek using a deltopectoral flap case report

Shika Igaku 50(5): 696-699

Various surgical methods have been used for the repair of full thickness defects of the cheek. However these methods were neither esthetically nor functionally satisfactory. We used a doubled deltopectoral flap to repair a full thickness defect of the cheek. The deltopectoral flap was reflected prior to primary tumor excision. The defect was closed intraorally and extraorally at the same time immediately after resection. The postoperative course was uneventful, and the results satisfactory.
