Regulation of hemodynamics by oxygen deficiency in blood and tissues

Literature on the effect of O2 deficiency on vascular tone in animals (dogs, rats) and in isolated intact and denervated organs is reviewed. The possible mechanisms of the action of O2 deficiency in blood and tissue on the tone of resistance vessels and the role of O2 changes the regulation of regional and systemic hemodynamics were discussed.
