Regulation of histamine release using ionic flux

In the present work, mast cells of pleural and peritoneal cavities were treated by several agents which interferes ionic fluxes through membrane such as ATP (Na+ and K+ fluxes) and ruthenium red (Ca2+ flux). We found different behaviour in mast cells of both cavities. This effect was studied in comparison with the inhibitory response induced by isoproterenol on 48/80-induced histamine release in rat mast cells.
