The effect of the hypothalamic-hypophyseal-adrenocortical system on the regulation of immune homeostasis of reproductive organs was studied in sows. Changes in cortisol level in the sows' blood were established in various phases of the sexual cycle. These changes may affect the condition of lymphoid organs and the redistribution and migration of lymphocytes to the reproductive organs. A correlation was established between exogenous cortisol level and the degree of endometrium infiltration with lymphocytes and sow fecundity. Data were also presented on functional adrenal reserve in relation to sow fecundity.
