Relationship between the forms of dried coffee berry coffea arabica and green coffee bean

Relationship between the forms of dried coffee berry coffea arabica and green coffee bean

Engenharia Agricola 10(1): 3-13

In the present work, it was analyzed the linear dimensions, length, width and thickness of coffee berry dried and green coffee beans (processed coffee beans), of four varieties with the finality of giving subventions to the project of machines and equipments for coffee processing. At first, it was elaborated a descriptive study of the related dimensions, obtaining the average, the standard deviation, the standard error of average, the variation coefficient, the interval of trust, and the interval of prevision, for each one. It was calculated the coefficients of correlation between the measurements of coffee berry dried and processed coffee beans for each variety, with the finality of estimating the uniformity of forms of the coffee studied and also, of estimating the level of correspondence between forms of the coffee berry dried and the processed coffee beans. At last, it was obtained an economical correlation between both kinds of coffee by using a linear combination of its respective measurements which significance was tested by an X2. In view of the results obtained, it may be concluded which would be the ideal dimensions of the strainer holes for classification of these coffee berry dried; and what would be the conduct of the respective husked coffee.
