Release of non-electrolytes from liposomes

Release of non-electrolytes from liposomes

Journal of Pharmacy and Pharmacology 35(1): 12-14

The potential of liposomes as model biological membrane systems and as possible drug delivery devices was documented. Equations were derived to describe the release of nonelectrolytes from liposomal suspensions. The effects of simple physicochemical parameters are shown and the way in which slow interfacial kinetics may dominate release is predicted.
